This is a big deal for Canon's APS-C lineup, especially with the R7 Mark II stepping up to the plate by moving into the premium market. Until now, only Canon's high-end models like the EOS R1, EOS R3, and EOS R5 Mark II featured stacked sensors. I've been hearing whispers about the R7 Mark II getting a stacked sensor for a while now, and it totally makes sense given the buzz that Canon was planning to include stacked sensors in at least three of their cameras.
